Staithes Sunny Day
Staithes - a quaint fishing village on the Northeastern Coast of England - hosted me on a painting adventure. I crafted this angle several times, each with a different style, on this same scene. In this one, with the underlying amethyst, that sets the mood, I leave edges with a coating of jewel tones. The plaster of the homes shone ocher in the sunset and complimented the purple edges, blues of the water and even the green on the docks. Staithes, while simple, is gracefully picturesque.
This piece is on a 16" X 20" Stretched canvas. It currently sits in a beautiful closed-corner frame, that I would be happy to send you if you are interested in purchasing this piece framed.
